FCC Invited to CADCA National Training

We were honored to have been invited to speak and present at this year’s CADCA Mid-Year Training Conference in Chicago. This event offers in-depth, interactive training sessions specifically geared for community coalition leaders, including two levels of training for the National Youth Leadership Initiative activities. From fundamentals of coalition building and strategic planning to evaluation and research, these sessions aim to strengthen drug prevention initiatives in local and international communities.

⚽️🔗 Our Executive Director, Danielle Dubuc showcased how we partner with different sectors to create a collective impact through collaboration. FCC USA uses soccer to promote healthy lifestyles by raising awareness about the effects of vaping and opioids, increasing resilience using a trauma-informed framework, and explaining how play-based modalities build connections, create protective factors, and eventually promote emotional regulation strategies to prevent addiction in children and youth.

🚦 During the session, some participants played the Traffic Light Soccer Shots game to showcase the different nervous system states. This activity promotes self-awareness and helps identify when youth are more vulnerable to developing an addiction.

🫶 We are eternally grateful for the awesome team at CADCA, who put their heart into everything they do! Special thanks to President and CEO Barrye Price, International Director of Western Hemisphere Gonzalo Cadima, Program Manager for Community Development Sean Moore, and Senior Operations Manager Ildiko Juhasz. 💯
